Importing contacts allows you to upload client contact details into Formitize from a spreadsheet making it quick and easy to add or update multiple contacts at once. It's ideal when you're setting up a new account, moving from another CRM or making bulk updates to your existing contact records.

Before importing contacts, make sure you have access to the CRM/Contacts in the Web Portal, permission to import or manage contacts and a spreadsheet that is clean, up to date, and includes clear column headings. Your spreadsheet can contain as much contact information as required, with recommended fields including Contact Name, Business Name, Email Address, Phone Number and Address.

For the best results, remove any unnecessary blank rows, check for duplicate contacts before uploading, and keep phone numbers and email addresses in a consistent format. If you're importing data for the first time or are unsure of the results, consider importing a small test file first. Before completing the import, review the column mapping page to ensure all fields are matched correctly, keep a backup copy of your original spreadsheet and review your imported contacts once the import has finished.
